Woodstock was 'Woodstock'. (Fab) I hope I remembered to thank Tom Lane and the late Vic Benzyk for the ride back to Darien. A few weeks later I was at SVA painting still-lifes in a studio on East 21st street, which worked out in the end.........

Seems that the girls field hockey, like so many DHS sports, has come a long way in 50 years.  According to the 1971 yearbook, the 1970 team had a lot of fun and memories, in spite of "NO GOALS AT ALL"!!

Everybody looks so good! One young man hasn't aged a BIT. I don't know what Jim Tully's secret is, but he could probably stilll play football for Darien. As a matter of fact, I was on my way to a game last year when I stopped at a red light. I looked over and it was Jimmy wearing a Darien football helmut. I said, "JIM!! .... where the hell are you going?" He said, "I don't know! Do you wanna come!!?" He always had such a great sense of humor. I hope he lives FOREVER! Then he said, "No, but seriously ..... I'm trying to track down my pals Wally & Billy." I said, "I'm also looking for Wally, but Billy's right here ya dummy!" He says, "How's this helmut look on me?" I said, "It looks good, but it really doesn't go with your tuxedo!" Then we raced off to have a few beers.

50 years have passed ???!!! Wow. How did we get so old and outdated ? I thought we were cool  and “with it” !! Been in Santa Cruz, California since 1974. Been a lot of places and seen a lot of things, not the least of which was raising 3 daughters with husband, Gerald. Resting, recuperating, and relaxing nowadays and wishing all of you  old buddies lotsa fun and delight meeting up with one another yet one more time!

Good to see Mrs. Margaret Porter mentioned.  She was the best and nicest teacher I had at DHS. (class of 72) John V, keep up the good work on this blog

Hi! I came upon this site, so want to check in and say hello to old friends. Although I went to prep school, Darien was always, and remains, my home town. I'm living in Redondo Beach CA with my 12 year old son (yeah I got a late start), been here 20 years. A retired software executive living the good life. Wanted to upload a recent picture or two, but there doesn't seem to be the facility to do so here. My best to everyone! Steve (aka Spider)

Looking forward to being back in Darien.  Get to see my brother and his family while there.  Retired a little over a year ago.  Playing a lot of golf!  Have a granddaughter 2 yrs old and another due mid- August.  Does anyone want to play golf during the weekend?  For the last 15 years I have been a judge for The International Cat Assn, traveling the world judging cat shows.  It has been a wonderful way to see the world and meet many terrific people, while enjoying those beautiful felines!  We are going to have a great time together!

Veritas vos liberabit?

I thought the DHS motto was
"What the F***?   Over."

Shows that life is a learning experience.
